Casimir
P. Eitner brings direct experience in starting and running
several successful new businesses. At Life Technologies (now Invitrogen),
a $450 million supplier of research products and technologies active
in most major segments of the biotech industry, Casey served as
Vice President Business Development. In addition to deal making,
acquisitions and licensing, he held global P&L responsibilities
for the Custom Primers, DNA Purification, BioSepra process chromatography
and Gene Discovery Services businesses, and for genomics collaborations.
He had previously been Executive Vice President responsible for
Molecular Diagnostics, a business divested as Digene, which pioneered
DNA-based diagnostics. Casey had earlier started the US business
of Labsystems (now Thermo Electron) a Scandinavian laboratory equipment
supplier. He also spent eleven years with Mallinckrodt, Inc., a
major supplier of laboratory, diagnostic and radiology products,
in numerous international and US operating management positions.
Casey has also served in an advisory role with Canadian and US venture
capital funds.
